Ian is co-founder and CEO at XLD Finance, a borderless decentralized ecosystem that provides financial services across emerging economies. He spent the past 10+ years running strategy, product and commercial teams in the telco and fintech sectors. He is a pioneer in the digital microcredit space in SEA, combining telco, social, and financial data to fully automate credit scoring and underwriting to serve the unbanked and underserved.
Prior to this, he founded Foundry Partners, a boutique end-to-end consulting firm specializing in product development, software engineering, and regulation/compliance. He was also the founding COO of JG Digital Equity Ventures, the corporate VC arm of the JG Summit Group, a $10B+ diversified conglomerate in the Philippines investing in early- to mid-stage startups in SEA.
His previous roles in fintech include Head of Strategic Partnerships & Strategic Initiatives at Cashalo (Oriente Group) and the VP of Consumer Lending at GCash (Alibaba/Ant Financial). In telco, he was a senior member of the strategy team of the Philippines’ leading telecommunications company, Globe Telecom.
